Create and manage your bands, orchestras, jazz groups, and other performing groups.

Overview

The Ensembles page shows all ensembles that belong to your currently selected program. Each ensemble appears as a large, clickable button for quick access.

Important:

All students must first be entered in Personnel → Students before they can be added to any ensemble.

A student can belong to multiple ensembles, but only once in each ensemble.

Main Features

Add New Ensemble

Click the blue “Add New Ensemble” button to create a new group (e.g., Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Color Guard, etc.).

Ensemble Buttons

Click any ensemble button to open its roster management page (ensembles_display.php), where you can add/remove students and manage instrumentation.

Rename & Delete

Under each ensemble button you’ll find quick links to Rename or Delete the ensemble.

Search

Use the search box to quickly filter your list of ensembles by name.

How to Manage Rosters

Clicking on an ensemble button takes you to the detailed roster page where you can:

Add students from your program to the ensemble
Remove students from the ensemble
Assign instruments to students in that ensemble
View and manage the full roster

Show Tips

Check the “Show Tips” box at the top to display the important reminder about adding students first.

Best Practices

Create your main ensembles (Marching Band, Concert Band, etc.) early in the year.
Use clear, consistent names so students and parents understand which group they’re in.
Remember that ensemble membership is independent — a student can be in multiple ensembles at once.
